You're wondering how to up your follow-up game?

Well, if you’re reading this, the answer is.. probably more than you already are.

Don't worry; we've all been there. But guess what?

You're in luck because I've got some quick tips to help you navigate the follow-up maze like a pro. In fact I wrote a whole book about it.

First things first, when should you follow up?

Well, if it's an initial inquiry, the answer is simple – FAST! Aim to send out at least 4 follow-ups within the first 2 weeks. But here's the kicker – don't just copy and paste the same thing over and over again. Mix it up! Nobody wants to be guilted into responding. That’s not a great way to start this journey with your prospect.

Step two, change your method.

Email is so last season. Stand out from the crowd by giving them a call, dropping a WhatsApp message, sending aDM, or even sending a good old-fashioned mail. The more personal, the better! But don’t stick to one method and wonder why it’s not getting a response.

Now, onto step three – always add value.

Put yourself in their shoes and think about what would catch their attention. Whether it's a personalised video, a glowing testimonial, an interesting article, or even an invite to a fun tour or presentation, make sure you're offering something of value with each follow-up. It doesn’t even need to be related to what you are selling - as long as it resonates with your prospect. For example, if you target parents, perhaps empathise with the busy holidays, or getting their kids off their screens etc.

Step four, set a clear call to action.

Don't leave them guessing; tell them exactly what you want them to do next. Mix it up – ask them to reply, book a call or appointment, attend a webinar, or download something handy.

And finally, step five, always set the next step.

Remember, a good lead deserves between 5-12 follow-ups before you throw in the towel. Mix it up with emails, WhatsApp messages, calls, mails, and even events to keep things fresh and exciting. It is simply easier to follow-up if you can get the next meeting or call in the diary, so always aim to do this in the first instance!

So there you have it – your ultimate guide to leveling up your follow-up game.

There’s more to it (hence a 30,000 word book!) but this will get you further than perhaps you are at the moment.

If you want the book search for ‘Nicola Lutz’ on Amazon and you can grab it there.

If you want the ‘in real life’ version you can book Nicola to personally devise your Follow-Up Framework with you. Just DM the words ‘in person’ and we’ll send you some details or set up a call to discuss it more.

Good luck!
